PATRICK
& MIOKO
Patrick and Mioko have in common a passion for arts, sports, music
and dance.
They have benefited
from the advices of Argentine Maestros Los Ocampo, Luis Bruni,
Pablo Kliksberg. They have also practiced the techniques of the
school of classical dance.
In 2001, Patrick
and Mioko became partners and have since then devoted themselves
mainly to Argentine Tango dances (Milonga, Argentine Waltz, and
Scenario Tango), which they had discovered separately in 1997.
They became finalists
of World Championship IDO 2007 of Argentin Tango, and triple French
Champions (2005, 2007 and 2008).
Before 2001 with
their respective partners, as well as together until 2007, they
also participated in competitions of ten dances (Quick Step, Slow
Fox, English Waltz, Viennese Waltz, Continental Tango, Cha Cha
Cha, Rumba , Paso Doble, Rock, Jive, and Samba). In addition,
they participated in a number of films, dance shows, and TV programmes.
For a project by the Fine Art School of Paris, they were the principal
actors of a film on the violence expressed in a dance, more specifically
in Argentine Tango.
In terms of the music
activities, in 2003, they were among the semi-finalists in the
10th edition of the International Astor Piazzola Award under the
name of Los Balaidors (Patrick: guitar / Mioko: piano). In 2005,
they wrote some music arrangements to accompany Mokrane,
a very well known Kabila poet in his concert and in a direct
radio programme. They also contributed to the production of his
promotion video.
In 2009 Tango was
classified in UNESCO’s intangible cultural heritage. In
the framework of this incident, Patrick and Mioko had the honour
and pleasure to dance for the Gala of Tango organized at UNESCO
by the UNESCO Permanent Delegations of Argentine and Uruguay.
